Welcome, New C2SMART Interns!
C2SMART would like to formally welcome this year’s new laboratory interns. These interns help continually to maintain the website, perform data analysis, and assist in various research-related tasks for the center’s principal investigators. Their presence helps to distribute the time burden of lengthy projects and ensures that our website continues to deliver the latest news and research from C2SMART.
Siva Thambiran
Siva Sooryaa is a senior student studying civil engineering at Tandon with minors in transportation and construction industry. He is the secretary of the ITE Student Chapter at Tandon and works as an intern at C2SMART. Siva has a profound desire in finding solutions to infrastructure and environment-related challenges, and transportation, being a major field where such large-scale infrastructure projects, is an area he is looking forward to pursuing a career in. That is the main reason why Siva joined C2SMART: to get exposure to different projects and research areas.
Dinuka Ranasinghe
Dinuka Ranasinghe is a senior studying Civil Engineering at Tandon minoring in Construction Management. He has interned at C2SMART for almost two years and is also a part of the ASCE’s Concrete Canoe Team. Dinuka has previously been an account manager at Flower Publishing Group and worked on website maintenance and social media growth. He is interested in renewable energy issues, infrastructure resiliency, and transportion projects. Dinuka has joined C2SMART to be involved in projects that encompass various research areas like Infrastructure Resiliency and Equitable and Accessible Transportation.
Nicholas Hudanich
Nicholas Hudanich is a sophomore at NYU Tandon pursuing a degree in transportation engineering, with a particularly interest in the optimization and sustainability of transportation systems. In addition to his internship at C2SMART, Nick is the Public Relations secretary for the NYU ITE Student Chapter. He has additionally interned at several transportation planning companies including CHA and Cambridge Systematics, and has served as a legislative aide for Rep. David DeCoste of the Massachusetts House.
