The NYU Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE) Student Chapter Traffic Bowl Team won the 2020 ITE Northeastern Collegiate Traffic Bowl competition, held virtually via Zoom on September 22, and subsequently competed in the Grand Championship on October 21. The ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl is an annual competition between ITE student chapter teams using transportation planning and engineering topics for clues, questions, and answers. A total of 100 of the ITE student chapters in the United States and Canada have participated in at least one traffic bowl in section and district-level events since 2009, with 10 of these teams reaching the Grand Championship, including NYU’s student chapter, which was bested in the semifinals.

This year’s team was represented by current ITE president Logan Wagner, former ITE president Bruno Cunha and C2SMART Student Researcher Nicholas Hudanich. The other teams who won their respective districts and competed in the Grand Championship included Penn State, Purdue, Univ. of Minnesota, Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham, Florida State, Oregon State, York Univ., Yale, and the Univ. of Texas at San Antonio.

This year is the first time NYU’s traffic bowl team has ever reached the national Grand Championship.

Congratulations to the Traffic Bowl team!
