On June 18, 2019, C2SMART held the Second Annual Truck Size & Weight Stakeholder Forum at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. The forum, organized and led by researchers from the RIME Lab at Rutgers and INTERCEP at NYU, built on last year’s forum and convened more than 50 stakeholders representing Federal, State and local transportation agencies, as well as the trucking industry and academia.

The overall objective of the forum was to discuss new policies and strategies to minimize the impact of overweight trucks on infrastructure. Five focus areas were addressed through expert presentations and discussion sessions: pavement, bridges, freight, safety and enforcement. Key areas for potential collaboration between the public and private sectors and new research directions were also identified during the one day forum.
