Andrew Shehata
Andrew Shehata is a recent graduate of the MS in Structural Engineering program at Rutgers University, prior to which completed a BS in Civil Engineering at the same university. While at Rutgers, Andrew worked as a graduate research assistant in Prof. Hani Nassif’s RIME lab, and he was named C2SMART’s 2018 Outstanding Student of the Year. He has worked on research pertaining to a health monitoring system of infrastructure facilities such as road and bridges, fiber-reinforced concrete for rehabilitation project and testing of beams with bonded and unbonded tendons. He has also contributed to projects involving the use of Weigh-In-Motion technology and other types of sensors to evaluate the impact of overweight trucks on infrastructure. Shehata interned with Jacobs in NYC in 2017 where he was involved in high-speed rail bridge and inspection projects. In 2015-2016, he mentored students on their academic progress and clarified difficult subject matter as a student peer leader at the Rutgers Learning Assistant Program.
