Shengchuan Zhao, Transportation Infrastructure Development Under Rapid Motorization in China
Professor Shengchuan Zhao, Dean of the School of Transportation and Logistics at Dalian University of Technology, presents a seminar on Transportation Infrastructure Development Under Rapid Motorization in China. The talk will cover the following subjects:

Dr. Zhao is a Professor and founding Dean of the School of Transportation and Logistics of Dalian University of Technology, China. Dr. Zhao was a Fulbright Scholar at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, from 2008 to 2009 and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin in 1997 and Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 1996 to 1998. He was a transportation consultant from 1998 to 2004 in Tokyo, and director of the international office of Dalian University of Technology from 2005 to 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in urban transportation planning from the University of Tokyo, Japan. His research interests are travel behavior analysis and urban transportation planning. Dr. Zhao serves as an overseas invited member of the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences (IATSS) and member of the Committee on Intermodal Freight Transport of TRB (At045), Committee on Freight Transportation Planning and Logistics (AT015), and he is also a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Sustainable Transportation. He was elected as Fellow of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 2017. Dr. Zhao received the International Outstanding Collaboration Award from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 2016 and the best paper award for theoretical development from the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies in 2015.
