C2SMART Director Kaan Ozbay and Professor Hani Nassif, C2SMART’s Associate Director for Outreach and Technology Transfer, gave a joint presentation at October’s NJIT Technology and Society Forum on the topic of strategies for strengthening city infrastructure and building resilient cities.

The two experts, who have collaborated on this and related subjects for 15 years, discussed how to strengthen connectivity between critical components of a resilient city’s infrastructure. Their presentation focused on structural health monitoring and transportation modeling using big data, two main factors in city resilience. The forum was held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology campus as part of an ongoing series offered by NJIT that aims to bring key scientific, technological and social developments into sharper focus.
