C2SMART Hosts Semester Kickoff for Transportation Students
New and returning NYU Tandon transportation students, transportation faculty members, and C2SMART staff gathered for light refreshments and networking, celebrating the start of the fall semester and highlighting research and learning opportunities available through the center.
C2SMART Deputy Director Joseph Chow gave a brief introduction to C2SMART and the research the center’s students are working on. Jingqin Gao, a Ph.D. student in C2SMART Director Kaan Ozbay’s lab and president of NYU’s student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), highlighted upcoming seminars and events to be hosted by both ITE and the Intelligent Transportation Society student chapter. Professor and Chair of the Civil & Urban Engineering Department Magued Iskander also offered some words of welcome to the students as they begin the new school year.
