C2SMART Showcases Research at ITS-NY
C2SMART researchers and staff participated in the 2018 ITS NY 25th Annual Meeting and Technology Exhibition, including displaying the group’s research and presenting on one of the conference panels. Professor Joseph Chow, deputy director of C2SMART, gave a presentation on emerging transportation technologies and related research at C2SMART as part of the conference’s panel on Technologies for the Next 25 Years – A Look Ahead.
The event, held in Saratoga Springs, NY, provided an opportunity to grow the center’s visibility and forge connections with companies and agencies involved in intelligent transportation systems. The conference also featured a demonstration of safety applications developed as part of the NYC Connected Vehicle Project, which C2SMART is actively involved in. The demonstration showed how CV technology can warn drivers about dangerous situations, such as a vehicle in their blind spot, vehicles ahead stopping suddenly, and vehicles approaching an intersection.
