The Department of Civil & Urban Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure track position in the area of Intelligent Urban Transportation Systems. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research and teaching relate broadly to transportation in smart and connected cities, including but not limited to real-time control, sensing and sensors, big data analytics, advanced computational techniques for very large scale and high fidelity modeling and simulation, behavioral economics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, differential privacy, smart grid and population dynamics all with applications to the field of transportation, human-machine interaction and/or security and resiliency for connected and autonomous transportation technologies.
The successful candidate will join a growing group of faculty within the C2SMART Tier 1 University Transportation Center http://archive.c2smart.engineering.nyu.edu , and be able to work with other colleagues in transportation and related fields at NYU, including the Center for Urban Science and Progress, NYU Abu Dhabi, Rudin Center for Transportation Policy & Management, NYU Shanghai, and the Marron Institute, among others. The candidate is expected to be able to create a strong, independent research program with funding support from agencies such as NSF, US DOT, and local agencies and private companies related to smart and connected cities with a focus on transportation problems.
The tenure track/tenured position is anticipated to be at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Civil and Urban Engineering department.
